A persistent notice appears beneath every generated biography, including stories shared on the community map:
The first time anyone opens a biography, a one-time notice explains what these stories are:
Anyone — including people without an account — can flag a biography for: a factual error, the wrong person, offensive or inappropriate content, a privacy concern (for example, about a living person), or anything else, with an optional note. We review flagged stories.
When our research finds little supporting evidence, the story carries an extra notice that it is based largely on the words on the stone and general historical context, and may not reflect verified facts about the individual.
When a stone has no precise GPS data, its map pin is marked as an approximate location (a faded pin and an “approximate location” note) on both the personal cemetery map and the community map.
The first time you share any story to the public community map, you must read and accept a one-time notice:
Public sharing is optional and off by default, and you can make any shared story private again at any time.
Our Terms of Service set out the accuracy disclaimer, the reporting and removal process, the rules for public sharing and content about living people, and the limitations of warranty and liability.
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how public sharing works, and includes a detailed section on the safeguards we use to keep biographies grounded in evidence rather than AI invention.
Our app-store listing will state plainly that biographies are AI-generated from public records, may contain errors, and are not official records.
We are continuing to strengthen how the community map handles information about living people, so that shared stories minimize the public exposure of living relatives’ details. This work is ongoing.
Every story has a Report a problem option in the app. You can also contact us directly at edmondsj46@gmail.com — including to request the correction or removal of a story about you or a deceased relative. We act on these requests in good faith and promptly.
